Oct. 30th, 2011 11:47 amSo it snowed last night. It didn't pile very deep, but that's because it's so wet that it collapsed in on itself like a black hole of snow. It pulled all the slender trees down, bending them like longbows. Some branches of bigger trees snapped under the weight and fell. All around us people are dealing with blocked roads, damaged homes and cars, and power outages.
In that sense at least, we were lucky. Nothing was damaged except the trees themselves, and since they grow like weeds around here I'm not going to waste any energy worrying about them. The lights flickered once or twice, but we still have power and internet access.
It's kind of pretty.
My facebook news feed is filled with friends either complaining about the weather or complaining about people who complain about the weather. Cabbage soup is in the crock pot. We have plenty of milk and bread.
Happy Halloween. :P
