Okay... so here's a weird thing about language study that I didn't expect. As I've become more familiar with Japanese, I've also become increasingly surprised that other people can't understand it. I'll suddenly want to share some funny Japanese video with my husband and wonder how much of it he really needs me to interpret because the meaning seems so obvious.
