Jul. 25th, 2010 07:44 pmIt's been kind of a year of little milestones; today was a big one. Today we drove to the next state to bring Danny to his first sleepaway camp -- six nights with the Boys Scouts. All week we busied ourselves with little preparations, picking up miscellaneous camping equipment, labeling all of his possessions.
Actually dropping him off took most of the day. It was hard for me to stop worrying after him and fetching the things he forgot. I have to accept that it's not going to be a perfect week, but he'll more than likely be just fine.
The camp is a VERY cool place. Most of his troop is there with him, so he's surrounded by familiar faces.
The house is very quiet without him.
