May. 29th, 2008 02:18 pmI have a plumber who's willing to come by in the morning to install the toilet so I don't have to worry about screwing it up and potentially flooding the house. All I have to do is get that section of flooring installed. I leveled off the low spot (rather imperfectly but it's a vast improvement). The original plan was to slap a coat of paint on the floor but I think I'll be sanding it instead, and hoping for the best. I just need to wait for the "mud" to dry, and since I mixed it kind of gloppy (the memories of the block-o-concrete from the last bathroom renovation are still painfully clear), it could take a while. Waiting for paint to dry too could mean I don't sleep tonight, and I likes me my sleep.
An electrician will be coming by tomorrow to give me a quote for the overhead light (and the back porch light for good measure). Another job I could probably do but wouldn't dare because burning down our only asset with an electrical fire would be, well, stupid. And possibly not covered by our homeowner's insurance, since I'm not a licensed electrician.
*pause for happy dance of progress*
It won't be perfect, but it looks like we'll have a functioning powder room for Sunday's birthday party. Hooray!
