The doctor's office called today to let me know that the strep culture they took on Monday -- the one that tested negative in the office -- came back positive from the lab today. I picked up some penicillin this afternoon, but Danny is considered contagious until he's been on antibiotics 24 hours. I guess it's a good thing I've been keeping him home, in case he wasn't miserable anyhow.

It's nice to have an answer, and to be assured that he'll be feeling much better in a day or two and allowed to go on his class field trip on Friday. And it very neatly answers the question of whether he should play baseball tonight.

I sent a very civil email to the coach and one of his assistant coaches to let them know, and thanking them for their hard work.

And I guess that's that.
