Nov. 24th, 2011 08:31 amChili mac -- one of the more inspired things I've ever done with ground meat and no recipe. Sadie had four helpings. The kids didn't like the kidney beans, though; Danny said it was a "texture thing" and Sadie was grossed out by their name. More for meeeeeee!
Today we're going to my sister-in-law's house for dinner in Boston. I made butternut squash soup yesterday at her requeset, and it's now warming up in the crock pot. I have a turkey thawing in the fridge to cook on Friday, which might seem redundant, BUT: at 49 cents a pound it was the hands-down best bargain on a LOT of meat that will feed my family for a good long time if I'm smart about freezing the leftovers.
There may be short days and crappy weather, but there is Good Food.
