Dec. 24th, 2013 08:21 amAdded a level of difficulty to kanji study today. I've been doing a multiple choice quiz online using the JLPT5 subset of kanji. I installed an IME on my computer so if I can remember the reading of the kanji I can type it in and my computer will let me choose a kanji that matches. I'm getting really good at recognizing the kanji I know, but I don't know how well I know them until I can write them. So I set the quiz to show me the meaning, and before i click the link to show me the multiple choice I'm trying to write the kanji in a notebook, as well as whatever readings I can remember. After I try to write it, I go ahead with the multiple choice, and then I check what I wrote against the computer model.
It's a lot slower going, but I feel like it's settling more deeply in my brain... so that's good.
In other news, there is still Christmas to get ready for, and of course we've left a lot of stuff until the last minute. And we wonder why our kids fail at time management. Better get to it.
If you Christmas, I hope it's happy!
