The hard drive for my laptop is covered by the extended warranty, and it held on just long enough for me to back up my most important files. Best of all, the laptop booted up at the Geek Squad desk so I could finish backing up my Outlook files and then helpfully made that sick grinding noise it's been making just before it chokes and displays the BSoD so the technician was able to listen to it and determine that the problem was definitely the hard drive failing and not some random virus.

Because the kids are both sick today they couldn't make it to the playdate we've been planning for a week, but staying home gave me time to meet a pressing deadline for work AND deal with the dying laptop.

It was cloudy and wet today, but the temperature was close to 60°F.

I made a tasty Italian wedding soup from the chicken stock I made the other day, and while I was at the supermarket picking up the ground meat and spinach I found whole chickens on sale for 79 cents a pound. Tomorrow looks like another stellar dinner day. I'm really beginning to like cooking!

I think I remember most of the choreography from my rehearsal yesterday, and even though I'm sore I feel pretty good. Also I get to go to class tonight where I'll hopefully have a chance to run through it again a couple of times.

I guess I'd better get going.
