What is it that compels a cat to immediately christen a freshly-scooped litter box?

My cats are actually very picky when it comes to the litter boxes. If there are more than 4 lumps in it they will sit and mew until they are cleaned. Thank God I have 2 boxes!

Mine, if there are that many lumps in the catbox, just poop on the floor :(

Only if the sound of the flush compels us to run to the bathroom RIGHT AWAY. ;)

Hehe. Mine do that too. Sometimes they argue over who gets the privilege.

I thought only lizards did that. Curmudgeon will wait until we have replaced all the sand in his 50 gallon tank then proceed to Christen it profusely (and uros' pee is part of their poop, so it's not nice).

That is one of the great mysteries of life. Ours wait patiently while the boxes are cleaned and then immediately rush in to soil them. Even if they went just before the boxes were scooped!
