Today we dug potatoes out of the ground, washed them, peeled them, and cooked them up for dinner. This is quite possibly the coolest thing we have done all summer long.
It was EASY. They grow all by themselves. I followed the directions in this link (http://www.wikihow.com/Grow-Potatoes-in-a-Wire-Cage). We just got to "when the plant tops dry and wither," so I figured it must be time to dig. What's funny is they're the only withered plants in the entire yard, with all the rain we've had.
The only catch is some little critter helped itself to some of the tubers. I just cut out the little toothy marks and called it even. :D
Too bad we'll miss you but there's a baby coming to Collingswood in October so I definitely plan to take a trip out there.
