That's an actual ad -- I suspect (hope?) it wasn't written by native speakers of English. Anyway -- Istanbul? No thanks.

I'm fighting a cold with varying degrees of success. I missed both of my Tuesday volunteer commitments because I just felt so lousy yesterday. I don't feel a lot better today, but time is running out to come up with Halloween costumes for the kids. Photos will be posted at a later date of whatever I manage to come up with.

Clearly you should join Berlitz team! I personally can't even read the word "Istanbul" without singing the They Might Be Giants song (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vsQrKZcYtqg).

Me neither. Which is all the more reason why I'd love to join the Berlitz team. That way I could walk through the streets of Istanbul whilst singing that song :)

So where was this ad? Were they offering any kind of relocation assistance?

I saw it on Facebook, and I didn't click it so I don't know any of the details. But if you're really interested, try googling "Berlitz" -- maybe they're advertising on their main web site?

Reminds me of the time I was living in Japan, called the language school to sign up for Japanese lessons, and they tried to convince me that Japanese was too hard, but that they needed English teachers.

One year in desperation, I made Ann a white raglan sleeved gown, painted her face white, pinned homework assignments all over the gown, and made her the ghost of undone homework. ;) She got a prise! Pinkachoo (or whatever that stupid Dragon Ball Z thing is) was simply a headband with yellow ears sewn on and a yellow tail, add red lipstick cheeks, and we were in business. Gypsies and Hobos are always easy. Paper bags have many uses, too.

Those are great ideas -- too bad my kids have ideas of their own. Actually most of what they needed was easily and cheaply available at the Salvation Army thrift store. I do have some sewing to do but compared to past years this is pretty tame. I'll definitely be posting some photos after this one!
