Feb. 15th, 2014 10:17 pmI suppose it says something interesting about me that I feel guilty when I buy something I really don't need, just because I want it. I ordered a book from amazon.jp that's full of pictures I want to look at and words I want to try to read. It sat in my shopping cart for more than a week while I tried to decide if I deserved to spend the money on myself, and whether I really wanted it as much as I thought I did.
Tonight I still wanted it, so I finally clicked the button to complete the order.
I work hard. I rarely buy anything for myself. It was less than $50 including postage, and we have enough money that it's not a hardship.
I'm still trying to justify this ridiculous extravagance.
I'm such a dork.

And to make up for the space, you can sell / throw out a book you don't need and replace it with this new one. Actually I just bought a Japanese textbook (Tobira) and it cost around fifty dollars without postage...
Plus you can scan the book and help out others who want to look at it.The other thing is, you can go through some stuff in general that you don't need and get rid of them / sell them. Like for me, I went through my books a while ago and have a cardboard box full of them that I just need to scan and/or put up on Ebay. If they don't sell then you can just give them to a second-hand shop or something. But then you feel better about buying something new.
