mereilinSo.... it seems, despite years of insisting otherwise, that I actually like winter.
To be clear, I'm not a fan of the long dark nights, but the bracing COLD of it makes me happy.
Maybe it's partly due to the fact that my reproductive system is burning itself out, but I'll take it.
In other news... is there other news? Well, we didn't get the 18-24 inches that the forecasters warned us about. We did get about a foot of blowing snow before it started raining. I didn't want to shovel in the wind, so the guys ended up shoveling in the rain, which is a horrible, horrible thing to have to do. They did the length of the driveway; I went out after dinner to widen it a little and dig out my car. The district called a two-hour delay this morning so I figured I'd clean off the car before school.
Overnight the temperature dropped into the teens, and the heavy wet snow froze into a cementlike mass which was Not Fun to deal with, especially after the sidewalk plow went by and churned a big pile of slush and snow into the end of the driveway, which subsequently froze.
Well, as they say, spring is just around the corner.
